Used Bicycle Guide

The purpose of this site is to help you buy a good used bicycle and perform simple repairs.  Many used bicycles are excellent bargains and require no repairs.  Others have signficant problems making them unsafe to ride and expensive to repair.

When I was in college, I ran a used bicycle business.  I would buy bicycles, fix them up and resell them on campus.  Although, I always made sure that the bikes were safe and in good repair, I was often surprised at the minimal inspection done by the buyers. Perhaps it was because I was a fellow student on the same campus and they could come back to me if there was a problem.  However, that is not the situation for most buyers when they find a bike on Craigslist, a garage sale or through the local paper.  You may never see the seller again.  This website will help buyers become more knowledgeable about buying a used bike.
